The techno pioneer and the concert pianist got together for a dj-piano performance, a cine-concert in the form of a reflection on time, along with the images of Clouzot’s film L’Enfer. The techno maestro performed a set of his creations under the auspices of The Louvre, in collaboration with Mikhail Rudy. As Rudy is used to playing with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra or the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, this was the first for him. The two musicians delved into Henri-Georges Clouzot’s famous incompmlete movie rushes, L’Enfer. The long sequences capture the face of Romy Schneider in front of an innovative and fascinating luminous display, inspired by kinetic art. This film had inspired both artists to create the subject of their score : how time unites and separates people.
After their first concert together at the Louvre Auditorium on February 6, 2015, Mikhail Rudy and Jeff Mills performed together again on May 20, 2016 in Théâtre Liberté in Toulon and again on May 26 in L’Avant-Scène in Cognac.
