Throughout Mikhail Rudy’s artistic life, Chopin’s music always played an important role. In this album, he choses to record some of Chopin’s masterpieces he feels particularly close to. « What moves me deeply in the sonata – a work of tragic and desparate beauty – it is its call to revolt, revolt against oppression or against the ineluctability of death. The 24 Preludes is a work of incredible boldness and modernity. It diffuses an infinite poetry and a kind of poisonous charm which reminds me of Baudelaire and his « Fleurs du Mal ». – Mikhail Rudy
